BVBCET secured First Runner-up, Best booth award in ARM Tech Symposia 2014 – India, 18 November 2014, Bangalore - A global technical event for ARM partners.
The ARM® Tech Symposia is a global annual event designed to share, the latest ARM technology roadmap, and the up-to-date diverse ARM based devices and applications. This is also a platform where partners from over 1,000 ARM® Connected Community and ecosystem gather together demonstrating their products and solutions based on ARM and exchanging market challenges and intelligence.
Along with ARM industry partners, BVB was also invited to show case the state of art ARM processor based activities and projects. The other ARM partners were from industries like Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Xilinx, Altera, Atmel, Synopsis, NXP, Smartplay etc. The competition was to showcase the development in ARM based technology and was common for both industry and academia. The BVB participants were student groups from depts. of Instrumentation Technology and Electronics & Communication. The projects exhibited used the latest ARM processors including ARM Cortex M3/ M4.

BVBCET, Hubli has won 4 Prizes out of total 8 at Prestigious KPIT SPARKLE 2015 Competition organized by KPIT Technologies Ltd in association with COEP.
The contest was aimed at fostering the culture of innovation among science and engineering students by inviting breakthrough ideas to address ongoing challenges in the areas of transportation and energy.

The contest received 424 varied ideas from over 1100 students from more than 114 colleges across 17 states of India. In the final round, the shortlisted teams presented 'proof of concept' of their solutions for global issues, from unconventional power generation and hybrid solutions to intelligent transport systems and driver safety.
The ideas were reviewed and judged by a jury comprising eminent figures from the field of science and technology including Dr. RA Mashelkar, Head, Innovation Council, KPIT; Shri. Anil Datar, General Director, DRDO (Defence Research & Development Organization); Shri Arun Firodia, Chairman, Kinetic Group; Prof. Mathai Joseph, former Executive Director at the Tata Research Development and Design Centre, Pune; Dr. Ashish Lele, Polymer Science and Engineering Division, NCL (National Chemical Laboratory); Shri Satish Gokhale, founder of Design Directions Pvt. Ltd.; Shri Alok Mukherjee, Head of Robotics at R&D E (Engineers), Pune and Dr. Sahasrabudhe, Director of COEP. The finalists were evaluated for novelty, utility, and inventiveness of their ideas at a grand exhibition held at KPIT's campus in Hinjewadi.
Prof. MS Ananth from IIT Mumbai was the chief guest at the awards ceremony.
About the Event:
Eco-kart is an event organised by the SAE INDIA in collaboration with collegiate club of Gautam Buddha University (GBU) to design and fabricate a single seater kart operated by an AC or DC motor where the source is battery. The idea behind the event is to promote green engineering concept. Eco-kart 2015 final round competition was held during 10th -12th of February 2015 in GBU, Greater Noida.

The event consisted of two main rounds, namely virtual and dynamic .In virtual round the team had to submit the complete virtual design and report of the vehicle. The teams selected in the virtual round had to fabricate their vehicle to participate in the dynamic round.
The LED of BVBCET is an interdisciplinary team, comprising students from Automobile, Mechanical and Automation & Robotics department. The vehicle was adjudged as ‘The Fastest Eco-kart’ 2015 in the acceleration test of the competition.
It is once again a proud moment for BVB to win an award for demonstrating Innovation, application of new technology and learning for their ARM based solutions. This is the second consecutive year that BVB has won the award at ARM Tech Symposia.

KPIT Sparkle is annual national design and development innovation contest for engineering and science students across India organized by KPIT Technologies. KPIT Sparkle 2016, in association with College of Engineering, Pune (COEP) aims at fostering a culture of innovation and critical thinking among engineering and science students across colleges in India. The competition with the theme of 'Smart Solutions for Energy and Transportation' received 1,700 innovative ideas from over 10,000 students across 500 colleges in India. 54 best teams made it to the grand finale of KPIT Sparkle 2016 and top shortlisted presented innovative and sustainable solutions through scale models and working prototypes. BVB has won “Idea Incubator Award”.

The last date for option entry was after extension was November 21, and hence, you cannot apply for the same now. However, KEA will soon release the round 2 options entry dates on its website. You can sit for the Karnataka PGCET exam for CSE paper even after being an ECE non-Karnataka student. There are no restrictions for students of other states to join the Karnataka PGCET exam. However, it is important for the other states’ students to meet the eligibility criteria in order to take the exam. The criterion to be eligible states that the students need to score a minimum of 50% in their graduation. You should also note that those belonging to the SC/ ST category shall be considered as the General category students in contrast to the other states’ categories.
